Spring Term

Spring seems a long way away now but soon we will be outside in the garden every day. Outdoor play is a great time to run, jump and balance, such as on this obstacle course made with giant lego blocks. This is good for improving gross motor skills and self-confidence as the children navigate the course by themselves.

However, when there is wind and rain outside, we set up some messy play for the children. This might be a painting activity with unusual materials: these activities are more about the process than the result! The children are free to make any patterns and shapes on the paper. For instance, we tried string painting which produced these very modern artworks. Another day, we created bright patterns with lego blocks and cars; a great group activity.
